In response to the rapid spread of the coronavirus/COVID-19, Brandeis University implemented these new policies, effective immediately through May 3, which include the following restrictions:
• If you are planning any in-person Brandeis event with more than 20 attendees, on-campus or off-campus, you must postpone, cancel or consider using virtual technology such as Zoom conferencing.
• Even for events with fewer than 20 people, organizers should consider postponing the event and use remote technology instead. Evidence to date suggests that COVID-19 hits certain vulnerable populations harder, including older individuals and those with additional health conditions. Whatever the size of your event, consider postponing it if many attendees will be over the age of 60.
The BNC National Office acknowledges the impact that this will have on the many chapters who have worked tirelessly to organize large chapter events this spring. However, we think that it is in the best interest of our chapters to postpone and reschedule these events.
