WELCOME TO THE SAN FERNANDO VALLEY CHAPTER
Of BRANDEIS NATIONAL COMMITTEE

Since the founding of Brandeis University in 1948, the nationwide chapters of Brandeis National Committee (BNC) have been an on-going source of philanthropic support to the University.

Throughout the years, fund raising efforts of all BNC chapters have provided Brandeis with a world-class library which is so vital to a growing research university. Recent fund raising efforts have been dedicated to the support of Brandeis University researchers in more than 50 laboratories who are making great strides in the study of brain-related disorders such as Parkinson's, Alzheimer's and ALS.

The San Fernando Valley Chapter of Brandeis National Committee (BNC) was chartered in 1962 and has grown to be the second largest chapter in the nation. The following Western Region Awards were presented to our Chapter for 2013-2014:
     Highest Achievement in Financial
Outstanding Social Justice/Community Service Program – Facing the
          Challenges of Aging Program
Outstanding fundraiser - Polka Dot Luncheon

In addition we were recognized by the Brandeis National Committee for raising over $10,000 for the Sustaining The Mind Campaign. In addition, we met the Financial Goal set by this Committee.

Our members have many opportunities to expand their social horizons and to make new friends. Members with similar interests come together in study/interest groups; such as, book clubs, movie review groups, and "On the Town" adventurers who visit local points of interest. Interest groups such as "Legal Puzzlers," "Current Events," and "Women in Transition" offer opportunity for stimulating discussion among group members. Participation in Volunteer Days through our Community Service programs present members with opportunities to give back to the local community.

Special fund raising events such as our Fall Luncheon, our Books & Authors Luncheon, and several speakers' events are held every year. These exciting, interesting, and fun-filled events offer members even greater opportunities to expand their social horizons as they come together in larger numbers to provide philanthropic support to Brandeis University.
